People like my resume enough to either talk to me or see me in person, then they say they wouldn't hire me to feed their dogs. I'm not sure if it hurts more to get rejected at the resume stage or after meeting the interviewer.

Haven't written a résumé in about 7 years. Crappy thing is, you can no longer get away with a general resume about you. They have to be tailored for every position which takes forever.
